About Us

Our Mission

Built by Pilots, for Future Pilots

Fly Quest Aviation began with a simple mission: to make quality flight training accessible, transparent, and focused on the individual student. Founded by pilots who understand the challenges of starting out in aviation, Fly Quest was built around the belief that anyone with dedication and passion should have the opportunity to learn to fly.

โ€‹

What started as a small, community-driven flight school has grown into a trusted training academy with a team of experienced instructors, a reliable fleet, and a reputation for developing confident, capable pilots. Every course, from your first Discovery Flight to advanced certifications, reflects our commitment to personal guidance, professional standards, and an encouraging learning environment where students can reach their goals at their own pace.

My name is Brandon Inouye Gilbert, and Iโ€™m a CFI, CFII, and MEI who has been instructing for almost three years. I grew up in La Verne, California, and being close to Brackett Airport is a big part of what drew me to aviation early on. That connection to my hometown is also why I chose to complete all of my training here at FlyQuest Aviation. I started with the company as a student and have stayed ever since, growing from trainee to instructor. Iโ€™m committed to giving students the same supportive, safety-focused training environment that shaped my own journey. Helping new pilots build confidence and skill is what keeps me passionate about teaching every day.

Kamusta! Iโ€™m James! I knew that I wanted to become a pilot ever since I was a young kid. I had these model toy planes that Iโ€™d pretend to fly with my grandpa. Fast forward 20 years later and Iโ€™m flying the real thing. When Iโ€™m not in an airplane, you can catch me running, hiking, or working out. Iโ€™m really excited to help you grow and develop your passion for aviation! So hit me up for some fun and safe flying!

CFI

My name is Arnulfo Chaidez, and I have been a CFI here at Fly Quest for about a year now. I am the first pilot in my family, grew up in Jurupa valley near Riverside Airport where my training began in 2016. Most of my jobs been around aviation either working on Military F15, F16 flight controls or Commercial airlines composite engine nacelles. I not only wanted to work and construct these components but to one day be able to fly them, and that's what dragged me down this path. My goal is to teach the skills needed to be a good and safe pilot by not deviating from any rules but enjoying the freedom and joy of flight.

Iโ€™m a Certified Flight Instructor who genuinely loves helping students grow into safe, confident pilots. I rely on my background in aerodynamics, instrument procedures, and real-world flying, but what matters most to me is teaching good judgment and clear communication in the cockpit. I try to create a relaxed, supportive training environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building the skills they need to succeed in every phase of flight.

MANAGER, CFI

Hello, this is Art. Iโ€™ve been with Fly Quest Aviation since 2019 and now work as both a manager and CFI. Aviation has been my dream since I was five years old, and that early passion inspired me to earn my Associateโ€™s Degree in Commercial Flight from Mt. SAC and my Bachelorโ€™s in Aviation Management from SIU. Over the years, Iโ€™ve had the chance to work with students at all stages of training, and helping them overcome challenges and build confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Learning to fly was always on my list of life goals. For me work and life always seemed to get in the way. Finally, during the covid shutdown, I had a moment to stop and think about what I wanted in life. I wanted to fulfill my dream and take on something new and challenging. I wanted to fly. Once I decided to start, I did my research. I visited a few schools. Most gave me a real awkward feeling that they were above me and were going to bark at me and not teach me. I had enough of that in the military. I was looking for a school where I felt like learning and comradery went hand in hand. I walked into Flyquest and within minutes felt good about the experience. I was connected to an energetic and knowledgeable instructor who became my CFI. We sat down and covered realistic learning time frame, money needed and long-term aviation goals. I was eager to start learning. I felt like I could see the big picture and what it would take to make it happen. My new CFI was a mentor. I could reach out anytime with questions or concerns and I felt like he was not only my teacher but my advocate. Through my learning process I had a few instructors and every one had a primary mandate to put safety and knowledge of flight first. This has always stuck with me, and I now pass that along to my students at today. No question was a dumb one. Safety was and is always first on my mind. The professionalism and attitude toward such an important thing was much appreciated. Every time I accomplished a step in the learning process or passed a check ride was a proud moment. My self-confidence grew and I knew I was moving forward with a very difficult and demanding path. I know everyone is going to say check ride passes feal the best but honestly my first solo was moment I am most proud of. Just months before the thought of flying alone was inconceivable. Taking off solo and realizing what I had accomplished was an amazing moment I will never take for granted. I landed and shook my instructors hand and said โ€œthank you for teaching me how to fly!โ€ Since then, I stuck with my goals and stuck with Flyquest all the way to CFI. I am Currently a very proud Certified Flight Instructor. Teaching is truly knowing and passing along the knowledge and positive attitude to my students is amazing and rewarding. I am gaining valuable flight and instruction time while teaching the next generation of pilots the way I was taught. Safety, Personal accountability and knowledge of flight first and always. I know southern California has allot offer in the way of flight schools, but I feel like I found a gem and a second home here at Flyquest. Everyone onboard is motivated, smart, honest and a safety-first operator. Itโ€™s been a pleasure to learn and now work at the school and I hope to be affiliated with the wherever my career takes me. Thank you for teaching me to Fly. Brig Dauber
